St. Robert’s Debate Team won the pro-con tournament held at Brebeuf College on November 30th, 2016. Senior debaters and Novice debaters placed first, while the Junior debaters placed second. The debaters performed well in discussing and arguing the debate topic; be it resolved that there should be no permanent positions in the UN Security Council.

Raashil Gilchrist placed 1st as a senior debater, Moon Li placed 3rd as a senior debater, and finally, Adrian Tanjala placed 2nd as a novice debater. The team’s victory is motivational for debaters to work on maintaining the reputation and level of achievement at St. Rob’s, achieved through hard work and dedication.

Raashil Jain stated that, “One of the main objectives as a team is to further the debating skills of all our less experienced members, as well as polish up all our own individual skills”.

The students in the St. Robert’s Debate Team aspire to continue their many accomplishments with the will to succeed, have fun, and learn new things in the process.
