Wonder Woman, direct by Patty Jenkins, was released on June 2, 2017. The revolutionary movie stars both Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.

Wonder Woman is ground-breaking. It’s the first female superhero movie to be well received by the fans and critics alike with a rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. In its opening weekend, the movie made $103 million. As of today, it has earned more than $820 million worldwide.

“It’s inspiring because it gives a female role model as opposed to other superheroes who are all male” Hope Dewan (11) said.

Wonder Woman contains unforgettable characters and amazing action sequences with the heroes constantly facing threats from the villains. The plot is fast-paced, however the two main characters develop surprisingly well.

One criticism is that Diana never feels like a real person. She’s strong, determined and hopeful; she’s absolutely flawless. As a result, Diana experiences none of the moral battles that usually surface in superhero films. Diana’s too perfect to be a human being.

Criticism aside, Wonder Woman is an incredible movie that defies stereotypes and is definitely worth your time.

“If you see something wrong happening in the world, you can either do nothing, or you can do something. And I already tried nothing.” (Steve Trevor – Wonder Woman)
