On Friday October 6, students at St. Robert participated in the annual Terry Fox Walk and Turkey Trot Run.

Classes raised money for the Terry Fox Foundation by bringing in pledge forms for the past week, in support of finding a cure for cancer.

That morning, on a beautiful autumn day, students took a walk around the neighbourhood with STUCO and SAC members positioned at various locations throughout the route, mimicking the different cities that Terry had also passed by in his Marathon of Hope.

Runners in the Turkey Trot ran alongside them on a 5k trail. Winners of the race are listed as follows: Joyce Zheng (12) and Roshan Sasiharan (11) in the senior division. They each received a free turkey as a prize, just in time for the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend.

Audrey Wu (11) said, “I didn’t run, I just walked. But I think it’s the spirit that counts – whether you’re walking, speed walking, or sprinting – you gotta do it for Terry Fox.”
