SAC Sports Buyouts

Lucas Fang (9) l STAFF REPORTER

Do you want an opportunity to skip class and watch a fun sports game instead? Well, look no further than SAC’s hockey and basketball buyouts! On December 13th STR’s Senior Boys basketball team played Richmond Hill Secondary School’s team. They won against them 52-49 and moved on to the next rounds. More importantly, students had an opportunity to pay $2 and skip class to watch the game, which led to a massive turnout. A couple of days after announcing the basketball buyout, SAC announced another buyout, the hockey buyout. Students could pay $5 to get transportation to a hockey game at Clathworthy Arena, free skate afterwards, and enjoy complimentary hot cocoa. It sounds too good to be true if you ask me. I hope you got to attend at least one of those and enjoyed the class-free afternoon. read more
