As the winter season comes to an end and the weather starts getting warmer, here are some comforting movies to warm the heart. In this article, you will find a review of the top three movies guaranteed to bring comfort and warmth for the upcoming spring season.
The perfect lighthearted movie to watch when feeling hopeless. “Legally Blonde” is a comedic film with just the right amount of charm within. Starring Reese Witherspoon as the main character Elle Woods, she becomes an aspiring lawyer to get revenge on her selfish, snobby ex-boyfriend. Her intelligence and confidence inspire the audience to fight for their dreams, as Elle did. Despite the title of this film gives off the stereotype of “dumb blondes”, it is actually the opposite. Elle disguises her intelligence beneath her love of fashion and manicures. The movie shows the perfect balance of comedy and charm, giving it the perfect comforting feeling.
A movie recently released by Disney has been very talked-about lately. The animated film “Encanto” was a huge success, from the conflicts to the soundtracks. The movie follows Mirabel Madrigal, a young woman that has no powers, while the rest of her family does. The whole Madrigal family can obtain powers when they reach a certain age because of a tragic incident that occurred to Mirabel’s abuelo that gave them a gift, an Encanto, but when it was Mirabel’s turn, she did not receive a gift. This movie is beautiful, as it touches on self-worth through the music and designs. It is a movie that brings comfort, regardless of the number of times you watch it.
A classic love story plot where the boy falls in love with the girl he least expected, “10 Things I Hate About You” made it on the list. Patrick Verona, the school outlaw, accepts a bribe to take Katarina Stratford, the class brain, to prom, but while getting to know her, he falls in love. Once Katarina finds out about the bribe, she “hates” him and ignores him, but deep down, she also loves him. Tired of holding in her feelings, she writes her infamous poem for English class, allowing her true feelings to spill out. This romcom is a classic, and no matter the number of times I watch it, the comforting feeling is always the same.
