2023 –the new year is full of possibilities and chances to be renewed, with everyone making resolutions and keeping them for at least a few weeks. I made a resolution to work on my time management, but here I am, writing this one day before this article is due, just starting to think of what to write.
2022 has been an interesting year better than 2020 but it was still an interesting year. We had our queen who passed away, the world cup, Ukraine, and the Iranian revolution. The common theme for the new year that everyone would love is peace.
Peace: Meaning that we could get along with each other.
We now head into the year and it is up to us all to keep the ideals of peace in our mind from day to day and to our most important decision. With global conflicts raging in Ukraine, Iran, and Palestine, it is imperative that us global citizens keep our inner peace.
To envision a world of peace could be too idealistic, as humanity may be incapable of bringing this mission to life. Greediness and conflict is our most pressing flaw. No matter how hard we try to build civilizations of peace they crumble. History backs this up with the Roman Empire and countless other examples.
We are not Gods, so we can not strive for the impossible. Let us instead find our inner peace, being what ever we could need peace with.
This could be making peace with people you had a fight with or even coming to terms with your finals results, knowing you trying your hardest is what is the most important, not the mark that appears on the semester transcript.
So let us remember to have peace in the little things in life.
