A N-“UCL”-ear Disaster for Quickley?

Immanuel Quickley, point guard for the basketball team Toronto Raptors, tore his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) during a game on Sunday, November 10. The news of the injury was announced to the public the following Tuesday, two days after the match.

Quickley partially tore the ligament in his left elbow during the fourth-quarter of the game. As a result of the UCL tear, he was unable to play for a week.

This was not the first time Immanuel Quickley injured himself in a basketball game. He previously suffered a pelvic contusion from falling at another match, which prevented him from playing eight games this season.

In the three games he has participated this season, two of which he had to leave early due to an injury, Immanuel Quickley averaged scoring 15.3 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.

For the foreseeable future, all these injuries will probably do little harm to Quickley’s career, as he has already signed a five year contract with the Raptors worth $175 million dollars (USD).

Sunday’s match between the Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers ultimately ended in a 123-103 loss for the Torontonian team. One can assume Immanuel Quickley’s injury may have played a part in the Toronto Raptors’ under-performance.
