Impact of Global Warming

Victoria Da Rosa (9) – STAFF REPORTER

The effects of global warming are changing the Earth and the way we live.

Global warming is a highly debated issue among scientists, politicians, and the average person alike. Some argue that it’s just a hoax, and others argue that the world we live in is changing because of the rise in temperature.

In the Global Climate Report for August 2018, published by the National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration, findings show that temperatures in southeastern Canada were 2.0°C above average or higher. Globally for the month of August, both land and ocean temperatures had an average increase of 0.74°C compared to past temperatures recorded in August.

0.74°C may not seem like much, but if the temperature of the Earth changed 0.74°C every year, it would only take a little over two years for the Earth to have warmed 1.5°C. Countries that signed the Paris Agreement pledged to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C. However, looking at the current emission trends, the world is set to increase in temperature by 3-4°C.

Well, the reasons can be both psychological as well as physical and psychological issues. Men with this condition have an excess amount cheap tadalafil tablets of uric acid.
To limit the temperature to a 1.5°C increase, countries won’t just have to stop emitting greenhouse gases and use clean, renewable energy. They’ll have to pull carbon dioxide straight out of the air.

The impacts of global warming can already be seen today. Arctic sea ice is melting, causing sea levels to have risen eight inches since 1880, the weather has become more unpredictable, and coral reefs are dying. All of this will get worse as the world becomes warmer, and natural disasters, like hurricanes, will become more destructive and unpredictable.

By limiting the effect of global warming, we aren’t just saving the Earth. We’re saving ourselves too.
