The time is here! Turkeys, pumpkins, you name it. Thanksgiving has arrived.
The point of Thanksgiving, (although in it’s true nature, is a horrid holiday based around pilgrims taking advantage of native Americans) is to be thankful for what you have. So, what more appropriate than to describe my thanks than in this article.
I am obviously thankful for the privileges and opportunities given to me throughout my whole life. I’m very lucky to have grown up in a beautiful country, where you can be with who you love, no matter gender or colour, where people are given a proper education, and where discrimination is a thought of yesterday (well, kind of). It is truly a blessing to call Canada my home.
It’s sometimes difficult to remember that some in this world are less fortunate and that some situations are much worse than what you’re living.
So in that case, it’s important to remember every year of what we’re thankful for and to make an effort to help the homeless, people in developing countries, and even the local food bank.
