A record amount of money was in the postseason pool for the MLB. However in 2024 for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the value of each share for the champions of the World Series, has decreased from in comparison to 2022 and 2023.

Major League Baseball teams received a total of $129.1 million from the 2024 World Series, beating the $107.8 million earned the previous year. Additionally, the Los Angeles Dodgers had a prize pool of $46.47 million, which was up $38.81 million from the 2023 champion, the Texas Rangers, and received to split among themselves.

Despite this increase in the price pool, the value of one champion team’s share dropped from $506,263 in 2023 to $477,441 in 2024. The value of a share peaked in 2022, when each of champion team Houston Astros’s shares was worth $516,347.

The drop in value for each share was due to the money being split among more people. While the Rangers split their earnings to the equivalent of 76.56 shares, the Dodgers divided their money to the equivalent of 96.49 shares. This trend of having more shares has continued for several years.
