The Indigenous identity has historically suffered from the Canadian government’s attempts at assimilation and eradication, finally receiving some recognition for their rights to their respective identity following the Indian Act. However, Indigenous identity continues to wane in Canada as Indigenous groups within the country struggle to preserve their culture, which is quickly fading in the face of urbanization, poverty, and an inability to continue traditions,  languages, rituals, and family lineages. read more

Lack of Mental Health Awareness in Our Education System

As students, taking care of mental health is a duty that is often neglected in favour of tasks that hold “higher priority”. Despite the copious amounts of stress and anxiety students must bear, the education system has been lacking in providing the support needed to assist students in their studies. read more
