Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in preparation for Easter. This year, Ash Wednesday falls on February 14th, and it holds deep significance for Catholics worldwide. Every Friday after school, the library transforms into a place of strategy, laughter, and camaraderie, all thanks to the Board Games Club. With classics like Catan, Connect 4, and Mahjong, there’s a game for anyone and everyone, whether you’re a board game veteran or newbie. What makes this club truly extraordinary, though, isn’t just the variety of games it has to offer. It’s the atmosphere of collaboration and connection it creates. From December 6 to December 10, the French council will be hosting a festive and charitable Christmas card sale. Between the stated dates, Christmas cards, costing $1.50 for one or $4 for three, will be available for purchase outside of the cafeteria during all three lunches. These cards will also come along with candy, likely Christmas-themed. As for the incentives, each card bought will count as an entry into a raffle for a chance to win a Squishmallow — a giant, cute, super soft plushie. Additionally, all proceeds from the sale will be donated to Holiday Heroes, a non-profit organization that aims to provide cheer to pediatric patients through a combination of in-person and virtual programs. read more
