In 2019, the well awaited sixth season of the hilarious comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will be premiering for the first time ever on NBC.
The cast and crew had a rollercoaster of events after the show was unexpectedly canceled by Fox Broadcasting Company, following their 5th season. After an overwhelming amount of social media support from Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans, people assumed Netflix or possibly another television network would pick them up. The show was rescued in about 30 hours by NBC initiating relief and excitement throughout the Brooklyn Nine-Nine fandom and cast.
The show is based on the 99th precinct in the New York Police Department containing intelligent yet humorous detectives and a quirky administrator who are managed by their loving sergeant and hardworking captain. Episodes consist of solving cases in the funniest and most exciting way possible. Lead roles are played by Andy Samberg, Chelsea Peretti, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Andre Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz, and Joe Lo Truglio.
Recently, the Brooklyn Nine-nine fandom was devastated as they found out via Chelsea Peretti’s post on social media, that she is leaving the show. The comedian, actress, and writer announced, “I won’t be doing a full season but that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back.” The rest of the cast has been posting sneak peeks and behind the scenes pictures on set.
NBC has expanded season 6 to 18 episodes so I think it is safe to say that this season is going to be amazing! “Thank you to everyone for the crazy outpouring of support. It means the world to us. It wouldn’t have happened without you”, tweeted Andy Samberg, producer, and actor on the show.
