Oh oh oh, big news! The Hunger Games is back with part one of its final movie of the series: Mockingjay! This time, Katniss will lead District 13 in a war against the Capitol, fighting for their long-yearned freedom and democracy. How will this heroic story unfold?
Big Hero 6 is a comedy-adventure film produced by Walt Disney Animations about a prodigy of robotics named Hiro Hamada. He is able to nurture his genius and talents under his brother, Tadashi, and helps to improve Tadashi’s robot, Baymax. When a sudden dangerous turn of events erupts in the city, Hiro, Tadashi’s close friends, and Baymax transform into a group of high-tech heroes determined to stop the chaos.
It’s no mystery that the school of St. Robert is located in the middle of nowhere – much akin to the Sahara Desert or the North Pole. As such, students rarely get to experience life outside of school walls during school hours, with the opportunity to eat elsewhere being few and far between. Sadly, these conditions are unlikely to be remedied in a timely fashion. However, for the students who are lucky enough to have a spare (or for those who just walk really fast), there exists a healthy number of alternatives to the cafeteria – only a twenty minute walk away.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a short 12-episode romantic comedy series concerning a female high school student called Chiyo Sakura. She falls in love with her classmate, Umetarou Nozaki, but a simple misunderstanding between them ends up with her becoming his personal manga assistant. Fun times ensue and more romantically troubled students join the story.

From Laika Studios (creators of films such as Coraline and ParaNorman) comes yet another dark and delightfully quirky film, The Boxtrolls. Based on Alan Snow’s book, Here Be Monsters!, this movie takes place in an old English village, where Boxtrolls are believed to be man-eating, baby-stealing menaces to society. In truth, they are kind, lovable creatures who simply wish to live in harmony with the humans. Living amongst these box-wearing creatures is a human boy by the name of Eggs (Isaac Hempstead Wright) who was saved as a baby by a Boxtroll and raised to believe that he is one of them. Regardless of their peaceful nature, however, the humans want the Boxtrolls gone, and leading the extermination of their kind is the wicked Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley), a disgusting, if rather humourous, man who has an agenda of his own. It’s up to Eggs, his family of Boxtrolls, and his new-found, fiery spitfire of a friend, Winnie (Elle Fanning) to put a stop to Snatcher’s nefarious plans and to prove wrong the humans’ assumptions of Boxtrolls once and for all.
Hoozuki No Reitetsu (written and illustrated by Eguchi Natsumi) is a supernatural, dark-comedy anime, featuring afterlife from an oriental perspective. As opposed to the western imagination of hell as bloody and heaven as divine, the afterlife in Asia is depicted to be more moderate and relaxed.
