On Wednesday January 16th and Thursday January 17th, 2019, grade 9 semester 1 math students of St. Robert Catholic High School took part in EQAO, a standardized testing of mathematics.
Evil Questions Attacking Ontario. Most school-aged children were introduced to this concept at the tender age of 9 in grade 3, with literacy and math tests. However, in grade 9, the EQAO consists only of math questions, with the literacy portion of the test reserved for grade 10.
EQAO stands for Education Quality and Accountability. It is an independent agency that administers standard assessments as a measure of Ontario students’ skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. The tests follow the Ontario curriculum; in the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics, skills required in problem solving included linear relations, analytic geometry, and optimal values of various measurements.
