As the end of the school year nears, students prepare for prom, final exams, CPTs, and arguably the most thrilling, council executive selections. Throughout the 2018-2019 school year, the 8 student councils at St. Robert Catholic High School have been working diligently to foster a creative and enriching school environment for the student populace. However, it is now time to prepare for the following school year and when students apply for executive positions.
On March 1st, 2019, St. Robert’s Social Justice Council held their annual Thinkfast after school. The event lasted until 9.30 pm, and all funds raised went towards the goal of building a school with the Me to We organization.
In a life where one is privileged enough to receive so much in this world, it’s fascinating that first world individuals still have so much that bothers them. Although life has it’s up and downs, a lot of problems evidently develop from one’s stubbornness. First world problems are still prevalent in today’s society and are without a doubt, insignificant. In short, these minor inconveniences stir up so much stress that it’s quite ridiculous. However, by far the wackiest and bizarre problem is that people get hungry, but they don’t wish to cook.
The 2019 NHL All-Star game was held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, after years of being held on a Sunday. It was located in the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The tension was high at St. Robert CHS on Thursday, November 15th.
Students were prepared for awkward meetings with their teachers. Parents were armed with complaints and inquiries on how to better their child’s learning. Teachers were ready for hours and hours of words of encouragement and smiles.

On November 22nd, 2018, St. Robert CHS students were quick to get into the Christmas spirit, as they headed off to St. Luke’s Lodge for Christmas caroling.
An initiative to sing for seniors, the event was organized by the STR Chaplaincy Council. Some of the songs they sang included, “Deck the Halls”, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, and “O Holy Night”.

From November 19th to the 21st, the student leaders of St. Robert CHS clubs and councils were given the opportunity to participate in the Muskoka Woods Leadership Retreat.

Currently, bullying is a larger concern than ever before. While bullying in schools remains a prominent issue, the convenience of social media and other online communications create an impersonal and anonymous means of cyber-bullying.
