A two-time Olympic medalist, 7-time nominee for FIFA World Player of the Year, and 14-time winner of the Canada Soccer Player of the Year, Sinclair’s impact is felt all over the world of sports. As a highly accomplished athlete, Sinclair is the captain of the Canadian Women National Soccer team and the Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer League. 

Sinclair first began playing soccer at the age of four for a local under-7 team. When she was 11 years old, she was selected to play for British Columbia’s under-14 all-star soccer girls team. She led her team Burnaby Girls Soccer Club to six league titles, five provincial titles, and two top-five national finishes.  Sinclair then began playing for Canada’s under-18 national team before making her debut at the senior level at age 16 during the 2000 Algarve Cup. At this tournament, Sinclair became the tournament’s leading scorer with three goals.

Through her 20 season playing career, Sinclair has amassed an extensive amount of accolades. Sinclair currently holds the highest international goal-scoring record of 186 goals and has played the most games amongst all active international players.
