On Saturday, November 9th, hundreds of STR students, all a part of the school’s DECA team, competed in the regional competition to bring home 174 awards. A special congratulations to the 27 who had podium finishes and the 12 first place winners!
The overwhelming victory for STR was weeks in the making; students spent the entirety of October completing past exams and participating in mock roleplays on their own time in order to hone their skills in categories such as marketing, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.
With Ontario DECA’s provincial competition on the horizon, preparation is once again becoming intense. Team members will continue to sharpen their business knowledge with weekly meetings on Thursdays, where trainers assign tasks to further challenge provincial competitors.
Provincials will take place in Toronto, bringing together the strongest competitors from across Ontario.
