The St. Robert CHS Math Club is a perfect place for students who enjoy mathematics and want to take on exciting challenges. The club meets every Wednesday after school at 2:45, in Room 203, and offers a supportive environment for anyone eager to improve their math skills and participate in competitions and challenges.
One of the main activities of the Math Club is preparing for many different math competitions. Students can sign up for the COMC (Canadian Open Math Challenge), as well as a variety of Waterloo’s CEMC contests, such as CSIMC, Pascal, Cayley, Fermay, Fryer, Galois, Hypatia, and Euclid. These contests help challenge students’ problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and creativity.
Throughout the year, the Math Club organizes contest preparation sessions where members can practice and refine their skills. These sessions provide opportunities to review math concepts and solve problems similar to those in the contests. For anyone interested in more practice, sample contests are available, helping students get a feel for the types of questions and format of each event.
However, the Math Club isn’t just about competition, it’s also about building skills like teamwork, communication, and problem solving in a fun, supportive environment. Active participation is key, and the club encourages members to engage with others and work together.
Whether you’re preparing for contests or just looking to improve your math skills in a friendly environment, the Math Club has something for you. Join the club on Wednesdays after school, and take part in exciting activities and math challenges!
