On November 5th 2024, St. Robert Catholic High School held its annual academic open house, inviting students and parents to explore the school and get a sense of what it has to offer.
Multiple clubs and councils set up booths in the hallways to interest guests, both on the main floor and upstairs. Additionally, our school’s senior band played on the stage in the large gym for guests as they waited for our esteemed teachers and staff to speak. The band performed pieces including one composed after Michael Jackson’s popular hits, and the guests were thoroughly entertained. Some notable speakers at the open house included Elaine Dharmai and Derek Chan, the respective principal and vice-principal of our lovely school. They wore great smiles in front of the large audience and proudly represented our school and student body. For the dedicated and hardworking student volunteers involved with the event, two slices of pizza were initially available in the library along with a few napkins. There was pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza, and veggie pizza, all ordered and delivered from the well-known pizza chain Pizza Nova. However, students were happily able to grab more slices as there was a surplus of pizza. In the end, all of the pizza boxes were emptied. Unlike the empty pizza boxes, however, the school parking lot and surrounding roads were overflowing with vehicles and traffic due to the extraordinary number of students and parents looking to attend the open house. Security guards and police officers were on site to help direct traffic and prevent any major accidents from occuring, and many guests even had to park in nearby neighborhoods as a result of the congestion.
Overall, this year’s academic open house was a great success, not only in attendance but also in student involvement. Thanks to this outstanding event, St. Robert CHS is sure to see excited, positive freshmen ready to experience everything this amazing school has to offer for the 2025-2026 school season!
