Please note that the deadline for registration (March 7, 2025) has passed.

STR’s STEAM council is back with its annual science fair!

On Friday, March 21, in the cafeteria, students from grades 9 to 12, working either independently or in pairs, will present projects covering a scientific topic of their choice. Students will seek to either answer a question or solve or improve an existing problem or solution in categories like aerospace, digital technology, energy, and natural resources. The top 5 teams will then advance to the regional competition, which takes place from April 4 to 5 at Vari Hall in the York University Keele Campus.

In addition to creating a physical display board and logbook to showcase their work, each team is expected to prepare a five-minute presentation and will speak with the judges for around 15 minutes. Regional qualifiers will have the opportunity to proceed to the national competition from May 31 to June 7 at Fredericton, New Brunswick, and top teams at nationals will represent Team Canada at international youth science fairs, expositions, and events.
