Holy Week, which starts on April 2nd and ends on April 9th, marks a special season for Christians all over the world, including St. Robert’s community. During this week, Christians all over the world, and the school community, remember the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross by taking two days off of school on April 7th and April 10th, 2023.
This special week starts on Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday, which we now celebrate on April 2nd marks the day when Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. Following the days, we reflect on more important dates such as his last supper, his crucifixion, and ultimately, his resurrection.
During this week, members of the St. Robert community took Good Friday and Easter Monday off to think about Jesus’ actions. In addition, the York Catholic District School Board posted two posts on their Instagram (@yorkcatholic_dsb) to share the good news.
Through all these events, all the students at St. Robert were able to understand the rich history and love Jesus gave for all of humanity when he died on the cross. As a school community, we will continue this tradition and remember Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice.
