The week of Monday, December 17th, 2018, the St. Robert CHS Student Council hosted a series of events to get the students and staff excited about the spirit of Christmas.
On Tuesday, students were invited to play Snow Pong during all three lunches. The game was an amusing introduction to the Spirit Week and it let the St. Robert population relax, especially following an intense first half of the school year. The Student Council diligently supervised the area as students let loose.
On Thursday, The Student Council held a karaoke during lunch that played like a Christmas sing-along. Students were sure to get into the Christmas spirit, with songs such as “Feliz Navidad”. Additionally, along with Spirit Wear Day, students were encouraged to wear Christmas sweaters or shirts.

Finally, on Friday, the culminating activity of the entire Spirit Week was due: the Talent and Variety Show. Not only were there a plethora of talented acts, such as a piano medley, a yoyo and launch pad production, and dance performance, but in between acts, there were also fun activities, including a bubble gum challenge, that students thoroughly enjoyed.
It was evident that the Student Council was assiduous in their planning of this week. Grade 9 Representative Jin Schofield remarked, “Student Council put in immense effort into Spirit Week. I’m glad it was a huge success.”
With the break looming over STR, Student Council certainly reminded their peers that school and spirit can exist in harmony.
