MAP Conference: Mentors and Alumni Pathfinding

After school in the cafeteria, on Wednesday, October 10th, STUCO partnered up with Careers Club to host the MAP Conference with St. Robert’s alumni guest speakers.

Student Council and Careers Club brought MAP conference to the students at St. Robert to introduce insights surrounding university life, careers, and opportunities after high school. They had five alumni speakers who were all currently attending different universities among the province like Western, York and McMaster University.

The guest speakers at this conference touched on many of these concepts and brought up many topics such as university choice, their personal experience and courses. Students were also given the chance to ask their burning questions and topics such as school involvement and AP courses.

Many of the students appreciated the opportunity to hear about their future educational options and career paths. When asked, Shuhan Dai (9) said, “I thought that the speakers were good and explained a lot about university experience without being too formal or boring. They also gave many useful tips to put in applications and which courses to take.”
