Meet The Reporter: Dylan Wong

My name is Dylan Wong and I am a Grade 9 student in the IB program.

My favourite hobbies are playing golf, reading a wide-spread variety of novels (the Harry Potter series being one that I am the most fascinated by), and learning famous songs on the piano.

Golfing is my favourite outdoor activity and I spend countless hours every week practicing. On the weekends, I play on a golf course with my family.

The “Harry Potter” series are the novels that have inspired my love for reading. I could not put these books down and read the entire series within a month. A variety of other novels have been so meaningful to me such as “Tuesdays with Morrie,” “Lord of the Flies,” and “The Martian.”

I enjoy playing the piano when I have free time, and learning pop songs that I listen to on the piano has inspired me to deepen my musical knowledge.

These three activities are passions I have in my life, as I am willing to spend my time and effort improving myself, whether it is physically or mentally. During the school year, I hope to join many school clubs to get a better sense of the environment. As I have already joined the golf team, my interests lie in debate, the band/choir, badminton club, and of course, refining my writing and articulation skills through “The Axiom.”
