Hello, St. Robs! My name is Elaine Chang, I’m a Grade 11 IB student at STR and I’ll be one of the writers in the creative writing section for the Axiom this year.
I’m really excited to have this opportunity to share my ideas as part of this newspaper as one of my favorite pastimes has always been writing. Whether that be journaling, writing short stories or reports, I have always found writing fun.
My main source of inspiration for writing pieces are reading novels from my favorite genres, horror and psychological fiction as I find they give me the best inspiration for my writing pieces. Some of my current favorite books are: Yellowface by R.F. Kuang and The Shining by Stephen King. Two books on my “to read” list include Babel and No Longer Human.
Beyond writing and reading, I spend most of my nights either at volleyball practice or I’m often busy studying for upcoming tests.
I absolutely cannot wait to contribute my ideas and work alongside other passionate writers this year! 🙂
