Samara Mathew (9) | STAFF REPORTER
Greetings everyone! My name is Samara Mathew, and I am a Grade 9 pre-IB student at St. Robert Catholic High School. I am incredibly ecstatic to be joining the editorial column of The Axiom Newspaper for the 2019-2020 school year!
My favourite school subjects include english, mathematics, science, geography, and history – fun fact, I have memorized Canada’s Prime Ministers by compiling all of their names into a song! On a similar note, I also aspire to become the Prime Minister of Canada, hopefully in the future. I enjoy reading non-fiction books, especially memoirs about various Canadian political figures from our country’s past. I have also recently become quite fascinated with outer space, and I hope to help spatial travel become more accessible to more humans like you and me, during my lifetime.

Besides that, I play two musical instruments; the piano and the cello. I love classical music (I am particularly fond of Vivaldi’s work), jazz music, and music from the 1970’s disco era! I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and watching basketball games (my favourite Raptor is Fred Vanvleet). I am also an avid traveler, and I absolutely adore discovering new places around the world.
I am so excited for this school year, and I know it will be a spectacular one. Hopefully you’ll be able to see some of my work in the near future!
