Despite the bookworm my peers perceive me to be, I didn’t grow up liking school very much. I had a difficult time adjusting to my surroundings and I wasn’t the most joyful child. Even though times were challenging when I was younger, I believe those memories have taught me to enjoy school more and not to take its opportunities for granted.

In one of the first major events of the year, over 300 grade nine students gathered in the large gym on Friday September 28th for the grade nine dance, “Disco Fever”.

Firsts are always magical – filled with anticipation, a mix of excitement, and nervousness. This is especially true for children who are about to embark on their academic journey. For me, leaving my parents made me nervous, but at the same time, being in a new and unfamiliar environment was exciting.

Although it seems like ages ago, my first day of school was only around eleven years ago, days filled with recesses, colouring, and mindless work in the past, yet it’s nice to occasionally look back these nostalgic memories.

With such a wide variety of clubs, councils, and teams at St. Robert CHS, it’s not surprising that we also have a politics club as well. This club is open to all students of any grade, with weekly meetings every Friday, right after school in room 223. The best part about this club is that all you need to do is be prepared for some heated political discussions!

It goes without saying that sports promotes teamwork.
The motivation phrase ‘There is no I in teamwork’ is often used to emphasize the importance of teamwork during a game. The exhilarating rush of adrenaline produced through the desire of victory over the opposing team strengthens bonds between team players.
