The St. Robert Senior Girls Basketball team has been hitting the court almost everyday, and that practice has been paying off. As last year’s Senior Girls Basketball Team brought home the Tier 2 Championship for the 2014 season, the expectations for this year have been set high and the girls have been on route to victory. While participating in pre-season tournaments, the girls bonded and came together as a team; learning about each others ways of play and forming relationships. Team Captains Brianna I. (12) and Christina C. (12) have been leading the team through each game and encouraging the players to leave it all on the court. “So far it looks like the team has great chemistry on and off the court and I can see us going far in the playoffs with the skill we possess,” reports Christina Chin. Brianna leads the way for the team in scoring, averaging 20 points a game. The girls have played 4 regular season games, and have remained undefeated thus far in the season.

And the crowd goes wild!
Just a while back St. Robert was congratulating the lady Rams for being back on ice and winning their first game of the season. As the season came to an end this past week, the ladies were granted fourth place in the YRAA tier 2 south division.
Starbucks Red Cup Debate
Starting early in November, stores transformed into holiday spectaculars. Trees appear decorated in many glitters and colours, Michael Bublè was heard almost everywhere, and an enchanted winter throne was set up in every mall awaiting Santa Claus. Communities and businesses show their holiday spirit by adopting holiday decorations and playing Christmas music. However, in today’s continuously growing secular society, should businesses continue to promote the holidays?
