Is there such thing as Canadian Culture? This was a question I came across in Grade 10 Canadian History class, while learning about urbanization. This question surprised me. In fact, it angered me. As a patriotic Canadian and a fan of Canadian Arts, I did not understand how we could possibly lack culture. Quite simply, we don’t. However, Canadian Culture is often overlooked and under appreciated. Under Stephen Harper’s Conservative government, Canadian Culture underwent various cuts, but Justin Trudeau promises new change to turn that around.

The St. Robert senior girls basketball team faced off against their local rivals, Thornlea, on October 14, 2015 in our school gym. Prior to the game, coaches Mr. Chung, Mrs. Coda, and Mr. Civiero prepared the girls with new press and inbound plays. The coaches told the girls to ‘give it 100% every shift like it was their last.’

With proud parents and staff looking on, awards were presented to those students from grades nine to 12 who earned their place on the Honor Roll, as well as those who obtained the highest rankings in individual subjects in their grades.
