The Reality of Ray Rice

On February 15, former Baltimore Raven football player Ray Rice was arrested due to charges of simple assault against his wife, Janay Rice. It was not until February 19 that everyone would set their eyes upon the heartless, crude, and vile act that took place in the elevator of Revel Casino, Atlantic City.  For the wife of the criminal, this was a horrible situation.  It not only embarrassed Ray Rice but also humiliated Janay’s friends, family, and most importantly, her dignity.  No person, male or female,  should have to go through the pain of domestic abuse. In any circumstance, harming a person is wrong, and there should be a hefty penalty to pay. read more

Terry Fox Walk

On April 12, 1980, Terry Fox began his cross-Canada marathon to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Terry Fox suffered from osteosarcoma, a type of cancer that caused him to lose one of his legs and have to replace it with an artificial one. Despite his illness, Terry was determined to make a difference in the world, and he began his Marathon of Hope in St. John’s Newfoundland to raise money for cancer research. His goal was to run a full marathon each day, eventually reaching Victoria, British Columbia, and along the way, to raise $1 for each of Canada’s 24 million people in the name of cancer research. Unfortunately, Terry was forced to end his run after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres just outside of Thunder Bay when his cancer was found to have spread to his lungs. He died on June 28, 1981 at the age of 22, but not without touching the hearts of countless people across Canada, and the world. read more

Charles Yu, 于皓冰, passed away on September 21, 2014 due to a tragic accident in a parking lot near Warden Ave. and 14th Ave.  Charles was an amazing student, friend and son and his passing marks a great loss to our community. He was a smart and hardworking student and ever since he was little, he had big dreams of becoming a doctor and helping others. For all of us who knew Charles, we shared amazing times with him – through all the highs and lows in life. Junior Boys Volleyball Action 2-for-1 Special!

On October 28, the St. Robert Junior Boys Volleyball team had to face off against not 1, but 2 teams – the Sacred Heart Crusaders and the Middleton Hawks. They started off the night against the Crusaders, taking the lead right from the beginning. Throughout the entire game, the Rams were relentless, never showing mercy and maintaining the lead. With a final score of 25-19, the Rams came out victorious from their first game against Sacred Heart. read more
