Photo Day- Yay or Nay?

Jennifer Liu (9) STAFF REPORTER

On September 20, 2018,  the staff and students of St. Robert visited the large gym to have their school pictures taken by professional photographers.

In the morning, the photographers were held up a bit by traffic, and were thus a bit behind schedule setting up. This caused some confusion as the start time was pushed back to 8:30 am but the staff were unaware of this until they came to the door of the gym and had to be turned away.

Although there were some difficulties at the beginning, it was soon running smoothly with students being called down by their homeroom class to have their pictures taken, with minimal interruptions to classes.

There was also an opportunity for students to purchase a photo package to go with their mandatory student ID card. Evidently many people took up the offer as there were smiles all around as students posed at one of the five stations set up in the gym.

However, not everyone was happy with the way their photos turned out. When I interviewed my friend Jansie Zhang (9), she replied with “Gosh, I look so ugly!” Many variations on this sentiment were heard in the halls afterwards.

All in all, it was a memorable experience, with over 1700 students taking part over the course of the day. For the ones that were not happy with their picture, there is always the Photo Retake Day.
