Winter break is finally here! If I said I wasn’t waiting for these two weeks to occur, I would be lying. Winter break is a great time to take a rest from school, homework and other activities. Also, with so much free time, you are able to spend much more time with family and friends. This two week break is a great opportunity to sleep in and get the extra rest that you deserve. I know all of you are working very hard which is why this break is so important for you to do only one thing; relax. Though if you are in the mood, beginning to study for exams is a great thing to do when you have so much free time.
Throughout winter break we celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Diwali, New Years and much more. I celebrated Christmas with my parents and my friends. Earlier this month, my friends and I did secret santa and we had so much fun receiving and giving presents. I also gave my parents a couple of gifts. The best part though, was seeing how grateful my friends and family were to receive everything I had gotten them. It made me really happy to see them happy for the holidays. Many of my friends had gone to malls for Boxing Day sales but it was a complete zoo! Everyone is everywhere and some stores even have a line up to enter. I’m honestly so happy I decided against going out that day because it would have been so overstimulating.
For a week, I visited my uncle and aunt in Calgary. We drove to Banff and explored malls, mountains and a couple lakes. The most popular lake we visited was Lake Louise. There were many people at the lake taking photos of the scenery and skating around on the frozen lake. We even saw a mini castle built from purely ice.
Unfortunately, this is the end of the break and exam season is starting. Hopefully everyone is ready to be back because these next couple months are going to be quite intense. Personally, I have been slowly working on CPT’s and assignments but have barely given exams a single thought. That is all from me today, Saint Roberts! Hope to see you all back here soon.
