Arthur Ng (11)
In darkness there is light,
With heaven there is always hell,
With water there is fire,
Where there is air, there is always earth.
There must be balance in all things
Where there is life there will be death,
Each one nurturing the other,
An infinite cycle repeating forevermore.
As the Sun sets beyond the west,
The Moon rises up from the east,
Spring flowers fall with the wind,
As summer winds take their rightful place.
Pale light shine across their face,
While silver shards gaze down,
Watching all in silent stupor,
Saying nothing, answering with silence.
As nightingales sing with silver voices,
Misty mountains slumber with peace,
People trading, working hard,
Wars fought, battles both won and lost.
The olden past, the future unseen,
All intertwined, spiraling past unseen eyes,
They merge and separate from another,
Some the same, others different.
All things shall come and go,
Learn to let go, but always remember,
Never forget where you came from,
Carry on with will, care and passion.
All things shall return once more,
To the earth to rest at last,
Sleep now for you are safe,
Rest and be at peace once more.
