On March 24th, students at St. Rob’s came together after school to make a difference – one sandwich at a time. The event, organized by the social justice and chaplaincy council, provided an opportunity for students to prepare sandwiches for local homeless shelters while fostering a sense of community and service.
Held in the school cafeteria, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students eager to give back. With all materials provided, volunteers focused on assembling sandwiches efficiently, enjoying the process alongside friends while also earning valuable volunteer hours. The event was not only a chance to help those in need but also a reminder of the power of small acts of kindness in making a big impact.
Students registered in advance through an online sign-up, and spots filled up quickly due to a capacity limit. Successful registrants received confirmation emails before the event, ensuring an organized and well-coordinated effort. The initiative encouraged teamwork and highlighted the importance of food security for vulnerable populations in the community. By simply taking two hours out of their day, participants helped provide meals to those in need, reinforcing the school’s commitment to compassion and service.
For those who missed out this time, keep an eye out for future opportunities to get involved!
