The St. Robert Varsity Boys Soccer team is gearing up for another season of soccer and they have high hopes for the season. With a victory already under their belt against Thornlea Secondary, and another in their sights against St. Augustine, the Rams are ready to win it all this year.
Though they came in third last year, the Rams failed to make it to the playoffs due to a small point difference. However, this year they plan on going all the way, and have the players to back it up.
While the first game did start off a bit rough, the boys found their stride and were able to beat Thornlea 2-0.

Team Captain Luke Edward sees great potential within this year’s team, and is not scared of any opponents that may seem bigger or better than themselves. “It’s not about the size of your body. Its about the size of your spirit. Other teams may have good players, but we have great players. The difference between a good player and a great player is the extra grit, the extra push to keep going when other’s quit. They may have equal or even better skills than us, but we push ourselves beyond our limits, and that’s what really counts when you’ve got the whole game on the line.”
In regards to his upcoming game with St. Augustine, Luke exclaimed “We’ll beat them heavy. We did last year, and we can absolutely do it again this year. Go Rams go.”
