The Cafe Club at Saint Robert’s is a beloved student organization that brings fun energy and delicious food to the school’s community. Through activities like boba sales, gingerbread house building, mochi making, and pumpkin cake baking, the club has become a favorite among students.
On February 27th and 28th, the club held a baked goods sale during all three lunch periods. Each delectable treat was priced at $2. The menu included lemon bars, red velvet cookies, dalgonas, lemon blueberry blondies, childcare muffins, and matcha cupcakes. Excitement and Demand: The sale drew a huge crowd, with students eagerly lining up to purchase their favorite treats. The dalgonas, inspired by the popular Korean dessert from the Netflix series Squid Games, were a particular hit among attendees. The line during the sale was described as the longest ever seen at the school.
Baked goods have a unique way of bringing people together, transcending cultural and language barriers. The warmth and comfort of freshly baked pastries evoke feelings of home. They get to share those memories and conversations with their best friends. Whether it’s the scent of a cupcake, lemon bars passed around at a gathering, or the peacefulness of sharing cookies in the cafeteria. Baked goods symbolize love, care, and comfort. They create spaces for connection, offering a simple yet powerful way to bond over something made with time, effort, and often, a touch of sweetness.
I had the opportunity to try the matcha cupcakes and lemon bars, both of which were deemed delicious. The dalgonas received rave reviews from many attendees, solidifying their status as the crowd favorite. Conclusion: The success of the Cafe Club’s baked goods sale left a sweet taste in the mouths of Saint Robert’s students.
The joy and excitement generated by the event showcased the club’s ability to bring the community together through food and fun. Here’s hoping for more exciting events in the future!
