The Star Event of STUCO: The Promised Brawl Stars Tournament

Trevor Wu (11) | STAFF REPORTER

Think back to last year, to our own student council elections, the first time in a long time we were able to elect our student government. What made noise, got the crowd electrified? That’s right, the oath that if they were voted, a Brawl Stars tournament would be held. The competition was forgotten for a while, and many even assumed we were misled in order to gain our votes. However, on the Tuesday of February 18, it was finally announced. STUCO would be holding the long awaited tournament on February 27th, with sign ups beginning the following thursday. The ticket sale period lasted from the 20th to the 24th, and costed $2 per participant. The tournament was played in the 3v3 game modes, with players pre-establishing their teams during sign ups. It was hosted in the library, with rumored to be over 25 participating teams. The team who won it all, proved to be above the rest, and crowned themselves the champions, consisted of Nathan, Jared, and Peter! Congratulations to our first ever St. Robert Brawl Stars titleholders, and although there was no prize, they gained honour, or as some would say, aura. Their win marked the end of the tournament, so that is all for today, until next time, and don’t play too much Brawl Stars. read more

An Enchanted Evening With STUCO! Everything about Semi-Formal

Trevor Wu (11) | STAFF REPORTER

It’s that time of the year again, our school’s annual semi formal! Whether you like to dance, or eat, or both, this is the perfect occasion! As per usual, hosted by our own student council (STUCO), this event will take place on March 6, 2025. As per all semi formal events though, it is exclusive to grade tens and elevens. So sorry grade nines, grade twelves on the other hand get lots of their own special events, so you’re the only ones left out. Although the location of the venue hasn’t been disclosed yet, it will likely remain the same as previous years, the Crystal Fountain. The theme for this year’s semi-formal will be an enchanted evening! Although I have no clue how to dress for that occasion, STUCO’s post incorporates a dimly lit fantasy forest like background, so maybe prepare a fairy costume. Venue tickets have already gone on sale, so make sure to log onto School Day and snatch one for yourself! Semi will take place from 5:30 PM to 10 PM on March 6, 2025, remember to mark that on your calendars. Other than that, more information can be found on STUCO’s Instagram, and I hope you all have an amazing time! read more

A Night in Vegas

The 21st of November, 2014 was a highly anticipated night for many students of St. Robert as they prepared to attend the school’s annual semi-formal event, the theme of which was “Viva Las Vegas!” As the doors to The Royalton opened, over 200 students, all looking their best, could be seen entering the hall one by one, ready to have a good time. Was it worth the $60 price tag? And should you go next year? According to the students who went, the answer is yes. Why? Well, according to Eddie W. (12), “There were a lot of pretty girls.” But if you’re still not convinced, let’s take a detailed look at what the semi-formal had to offer:
