The American Music Awards. An unforgettable night for artists. This year’s AMAs took place on Sunday, November 21, at 8 p.m at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by Cardi B, the exciting night would surely be a memorable one. This year, there were many special nominees at the American Music Awards, as well as winners for the different categories, with Olivia Rodrigo being the most nominated artist, followed by a handful of other successful artists, such as the Weeknd, Doja Cat, Giveon, and Bad Bunny. 

Although all these artists were chosen as nominees, none were quite as victorious as K-pop boy band, international sensation, BTS, who received wins for all three categories they were nominated in. They took home the Artist of the Year, Favourite Pop Duo or Group, and Favourite Pop Song, with their smash single “Butter”, which they also performed that night.

As well, tying with BTS’s three awards at the AMA’s, was Megan Thee Stallion. She was supposed to perform “Butter”, the remixed version, with the boy band, but had to be excused at the last second because of personal matters. This year’s AMAs were a success, with a wide variety of winners in different groups, from “Favourite Inspirational Artist” to “New Artist of the Year”. While, the AMAs have come to a close this year, and we’ll all look forward to seeing more new artists perform next year.
