Kenley Ho (12) STAFF REPORTER

Autumn starts in September, ends in November and the weather during this time is not preferable. During this time, the temperature drops, it rains more often, and the days get shorter which makes it less desirable to go out. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says that the average “high” weather in August is 27 degrees Celsius and by November, it drops to 8 degrees Celsius.

Compared to other seasons, nothing much happens in the fall. In winter, there’s the winter break, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. In the spring, the weather starts getting warmer and we have the Easter weekend. During the summer, there’s great weather and no school! Autumn is the time when school starts and no one looks forward to starting a new school year. During autumn, Halloween was a holiday that I looked forward to, but now that I’m older, trick-or-treating isn’t as exciting anymore.

I don’t completely hate autumn because there are a few things that make this period bearable. The NBA and NHL seasons start around October and I’m always eager to see my favourite players in action.
