STR students are gearing up for the release of their midterm report cards. Students are eagerly expecting the results of their hard work and dedication over the past several weeks as the semester’s halfway point approaches.
Midterm report cards are an important tool for students and parents as they offer an assessment of academic progress. The report cards provide feedback on all subject areas including grades, skills, comments, and attendance records to provide feedback on student performance.
The last two weeks have undoubtedly been difficult for many students, with teachers piling work to help provide more information and balanced grades. A Grade 11 anonymous student stated, “Yeah, it was really hard keeping up with all my work and I’ve never felt so burnt out.” Yet, these midterms can really serve as a source of pride and validation for many students who have worked so hard to perform well. It can be a very large stress reliever knowing that they are on the right track and making amazing progress toward their academic goals.
Midterms are very important for students. It offers a chance for reflection on the progress made so far and serves as an opportunity to adjust and improve as necessary. It is important to remember that grades are not the only measure of success and that students should also be proud of their efforts and accomplishments outside of the classroom.
