On May 9, 2025, the school library transformed into a battleground of color and chaos as the Board Games Club hosted its first official UNO Tournament. With 32 participants, the event was packed with tense moments and dramatic comebacks as players battled their way to the top.
The competition ran through multiple elimination rounds, each match more suspenseful than the last. Spectators gathered around tables, holding their breath with every “Draw Four” and “Skip” card placed. After a series of tight showdowns, the tournament crowned its champion, Jessie Li, who walked away with a $20 gift card of their choice. Second place went to Kevin Yang, who earned an UNO No Mercy deck. Third place, taken by Adil Mushtaq, came with the sweet reward of two cafeteria cookies, while fourth place winner Jerry Wang got one.
The Board Games Club was thrilled with the turnout and is already discussing future tournaments. Whether you play for strategy or chaos, one thing is clear: UNO is serious business at our school.
