Transformation at Camp Robinhood

Every grade 9 was assigned to groups with an energetic grade 12 leader.  To bring the spirit up a notch the leaders came up with themes: the 80’s, giraffes, and Hawaiian, just to list a few. By the end of the bus ride  everyone was all pumped up and ready to chant their way through the day. The beat of music surged through their veins as the grade 9s entered “THE TENT”.

“I felt like I was a part of something bigger. I felt really energized.” says Joyce Z. (9).

That’s when a pang of realization hit every single person in the chest.  Yes, grade 9’s, believe it or not high school is here. Finally, the student council candidates made their way to the stage. They faced the new, intimidating crowd with courage and hope as they presented their speeches and entertained the crowd with puns and dances. The groups then headed outside and participated in many activities, such as shooting dragons with a bow and arrow, climbing rocky walls like pros, and many other teambuilding activities.

As the day came to an end, the grade 9s drove back to school feeling united and ready to be part of the St. Robert “circle”. Camp Robinhood hasn’t seen the last of this year’s group, they’ll be back in 2018 to sign out.
