What Talent Will You Be Showing?

Caitlyn Kerr (9) | STAFF REPORTER

Do you want to show everyone how much skill you have in your hobbies, or maybe just have fun with your friends? The Student Council’s annual talent show is great to do both. The event is on December 20th, the last day of school. The talent show will take place during school hours.

In order to sign up, you must complete the Google form in their Instagram bio (@strobsstuco). There, you must answer all the questions such as how many group members, what grade you are currently in and what you will be performing. Lastly, you must attach a video under six minutes of your talent. This helps the STUCO members to truly understand what your performance will look like and later help set up for it.

I absolutely love talent shows because most of the time you don’t know what someone does outside of school unless they tell you, but this way everyone sees you for something you really love. Many things can be done through the performances such as magic tricks, dancing, singing, playing a musical instrument and so much more. Some people do not get the opportunity to show off their skills, and this allows anyone to have an easy occasion to perform in front of a large crowd. Even just watching the show is so fun because you get a sense of someone else’s creativity. Plus, you are able to enjoy a bunch of different kinds of acts with your friends.

I think you should sign up because it allows you to spend more time with friends. You all will practice and practice to get the perfect performance, creating a stronger bond overtime. For the alone participants, you have a personal goal to achieve. Personally, I need a set goal for myself so that when I pass it, I know I’ve done a good job. I think many independent people are like this. This opportunity is perfect because you can set something small or big, such as simply playing in front of thousands of people or overall placing first.

Personally, I have witnessed a few of the upcoming performances, and I am so excited for everyone to see them as well! That is all from me today, stay warm in the chilly season, and thank you for reading. I hope to see you back near sooner or later!
