RAMS MEDIA CORPORATION- you have probably heard about them, but do you really know anything about them? They created the video for Remembrance Day and hold the Roscars every year. I decided to ask them a few questions to learn more about what they do.
When and why was this group created? Why was there the motivation to do so?
Rams Media Corporation was created about four years ago by three students who were really passionate about film and photography. Oscar, Jonathan, and Kevin, the founders of RMC, wanted to share their passion of film and photography with St.Rob’s students; producing videos and showing the school community what they enjoy most.
How often does this group meet?
RMC meets every Tuesday after school in room 247.
What is the most memorable work that RMC has done?
The Roscars is the biggest event for RMC. It is an award ceremony that is held annually at St.Robert CHS for videos produced by students. It is the Oscars of St. Robert, where people vote for their favorite video in various categories, and the winners will receive an award.
What are the usual procedures when creating a video?
Many different types of videos are created. Some start from scratch, making use of new ideas and other videos are clips filmed from actual events edited together. In order to create a video from scratch, we have to first write the script and write out a plan. Afterwards we have to select actors or actress, start filming, and edit the video.

Anyone can join the club, we accept people that know and don’t know what to do because we will teach and guide students that need help. RMC is a club that allows students to learn more about different aspects of video production.

Do you have any plans for the future to expand the group or to let more people learn what you do?
Our plan now is to create more amazing videos, and have all members and other students at St.Rob’s participate. Last year, we were not able to achieve our goal and did not make as many videos as we hoped, due to the limited amounts of time.
Do you have any plans for future videos?
Executives from RMC stated that this was confidential informational. But as we all have witnessed, in the past they have done videos for Christmas and other upcoming events. So stay tuned and don’t miss out on their new productions.
