Artificial Intelligence is a fairly new controversial topic. One of the first questions dissenters would likely consider is: “Will machines take over?”

Fairies are not meant to be in the water. The frigid wetness wrapped itself around Gem’s face like an icy snake. She was floating face up at the bottom of a well. She could feel nothing but the snake’s painful grip.

“Hey, look over there!” the fake-fanged boy in the vampire cape pointed behind his companion’s shoulder. It was Halloween, the sky was beginning to darken – it was going to be a moonless night. The other boy, Miguel, has fake stitches on his arms and face, Frankenstein-style. Turning to look, Reemo, dressed as a vampire, knocked the breath out of an unsuspecting Miguel. A few of the other trick-or-treaters stopped and gave the boys scornful looks at Miguel’s startled cry.

If I were to choose one thing for which to express undying gratitude, it would be life. Blessings are present in every nook and cranny, in all shapes and sizes: knowledge, wisdom, support, expression, modernity, universal truth – all part of the package.

Geese soaring overhead. The breeze gently caressing everything in its path. Leaves tumbling down from their perches in the local park’s trees, painting the ground in various shades of red, orange, yellow, and purple. The sun hiding behind silvery clouds, its light dulled to the world. Autumn – in all its cozy glory.

Firsts are always magical – filled with anticipation, a mix of excitement, and nervousness. This is especially true for children who are about to embark on their academic journey. For me, leaving my parents made me nervous, but at the same time, being in a new and unfamiliar environment was exciting.

This summer I went on a trip to Washington DC. The trip was amazing despite the sweltering weather. One of my favourite memories there was the visit to the Lincoln Memorial on the night of July 1st – Canada Day.
