Best Grammy Moments 2022

The 64th Grammy Awards took place on April 3rd, 2022, hosted by Trevor Noah. All the winners were well deserved and the performances were spectacular. From Doja Cat’s bathroom incident, to BTS’s V flirting with Olivia Rodrigo, the Grammys were enough to say that it was a success this year. Of course there were some questionable moments, from outfits to performances, but let’s focus on the best Grammy moments of 2022.

Starting with Doja Cat’s bathroom break incident, the winners of this year’s best pop duo/group performance award were Doja Cat and SZA. As the winner for this category was being announced, Doja decided to go to the bathroom. She nearly missed her first Grammy win, but luckily she made it back on time and gave her speech, starting with “I have never taken such a fast **** in my whole life”. She then continued on a more serious note, “I like to downplay a lot of ****”, she said through tears “but this is a big deal.” For an artist who loves to joke around and is extremely ironic, this was one of the most down-to-earth moment of the night.

The two best performances of the night, and also the fan favourites, were Olivia Rodrigo’s “Driver’s License” and Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever”, the two break up songs of the year. Their strong vocals carried the beginning of the Grammy’s Awards ceremony. Olivia Rodrigo left the award show with three Grammys in hand. Both performers were stable and eye-catching, however Olivia’s performance was not what caught the eye of many viewers.

The James Bond themed performance by BTS was highly anticipated by many fans, though as the show starts, the camera pans to BTS’s V seated next to Olivia Rodrigo in the audience, chatting. For a long while, we witness V whispering something in Olivia’s ear, then we see her jaw drop. Fans have been blowing up the internet with assumptions of what V whispered to Olivia. BTS’s V replies on Twitter, “I don’t even speak english”, shutting down rumors incredibly fast.

This year’s Grammys were a success and mostly controversy-free. Hopefully in the 65th Grammy Awards we will be able to see a win for outstanding artists like Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and BTS. Congratulations to all the winners of the 64th Grammy Award Ceremony!
