The Reality of Ray Rice

On February 15, former Baltimore Raven football player Ray Rice was arrested due to charges of simple assault against his wife, Janay Rice. It was not until February 19 that everyone would set their eyes upon the heartless, crude, and vile act that took place in the elevator of Revel Casino, Atlantic City.  For the wife of the criminal, this was a horrible situation.  It not only embarrassed Ray Rice but also humiliated Janay’s friends, family, and most importantly, her dignity.  No person, male or female,  should have to go through the pain of domestic abuse. In any circumstance, harming a person is wrong, and there should be a hefty penalty to pay. read more

Not a Better Love Story than Twilight

Chances are if you’re a living, conscious teenager, you’re familiar with the hit CW television series The Vampire Diaries. The show revolves around a teenage girl wedged in a love triangle (as in most YA fictional media) who is doomed to the perpetual dilemma of choosing between her two love interests. As always, the two boys who vie for her affection provide stark contrast to each other, with the compassionate, sensitive younger brother and the cold-hearted “bad boy” who unintentionally captures her eye. read more

Pearson’s Not Flying High with Travellers

We’ve all had our share of problems with airports, whether it be rowdy neighbours, loud babies, air sickness, or irritable security officers. And maybe it’s just been our bad luck that we Torontonians are cursed with having to use one of the worst airports in North America – Lester B. Pearson Airport. Perhaps we can sympathize with the fact that it will undoubtedly be plagued with problems with it having the greatest level of people traffic in Canada; however, we travellers expect more from our city. read more
