Winter break is just around the corner, bringing about the perfect time to watch some great films. While the weather outside might be frightful, the following movies are sure to be delightful.

One popular movie to watch for the holidays is Home Alone. This movie, which was released in 1990, is a holiday classic that has stood the test of time.

Home Alone begins with the protagonist, Kevin McCallister, accidentally staying home all alone after his family leaves for vacation without him. The story quickly escalates from here, with Kevin soon  figuring out that his house was going to get robbed.

This movie was received well enough that several sequels were made. However, after the first sequel, the quality of the movies declined rapidly, with the latest film, Home Sweet Home Alone, only receiving 15 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Another comedic holiday film worth viewing is A Christmas Story, which was released in 1983. This film describes Ralphie Parker, a nine year old boy, and his attempts to acquire a BB gun for Christmas, despite several adults telling him that the gun would be too dangerous for him.

Many films, such as Home Alone and A Christmas Story, are great movies to watch this holiday season.
