“Hello. What brings you to these lonely parts?” A chilling voice bounced off the gold-lined walls of the dim cave.
A crack in the roof provided a single beam of light shone from the direction of the voice.
“The food. I heard it’s remarkably filling.” I said, stalling until my eyes adjusted to the darkness.

The creature was me.
The cave swirled. Water surrounded me. Rocks pressed against my scales and waves lashed my face. A mirthless chortle bubbled through to my ears, half-filled with water.
An ominous whisper scattered through the black pitch darkness – a clear chorus of joy.
